Characterization of an airborne organic contaminant sensor based on microfibers with sol–gel film

Introduction: Based on microfibers with sol–gel film, this study focuses developing an organic contaminant sensing device to monitor airborne contamination in high-power laser facilities. Methods: The heightened the sensitivity external environment nano-structure of microfiber surface. relationship between additional transmission power loss caused by contaminants and filling rate porosity film was discussed. Results: experimental results indicated that employing microstructure coating could significantly improve contaminants. precision surface can reach ng/cm 2 .
